Charlene O'Malley in her new shop

After more than 10 years with Gaines McHale, veteran buyer and seller Charlene O'Malley has moved uptown with her own C.H. O'Malley American, English and Continental Antiques (4800 Roland Ave., 410.235.4488). The former Baskin-Robbins space now feels like an upscale London shop - intimate, sparkling clean and well-edited.

"Everything we sell is in the best possible condition," says the new owner, gesturing to her store's dramatic centerpiece: an American Federal D-End banquet table, from Baltimore circa 1795, that seats 16 ($38,000). She also stocks a nice assortment of small paintings and accessories.
