Featured Item - A Fine English 19th Century Mahogany Davenport Desk

New ViewOther View

The name Davenport appears to come from an entry in the records of the firm of Gillow in England. They made a a small desk for a Captain Davenport to the specification that has become familiar under his name. This fine English 19th century Davenport Desk just into our showroom has been carefully restored . Here we have a great tooled green leather writing surface over a fully fitted interior. There are four working drawers, which on the other side have faux fronts, making this a piece that is beautiful at any angle, because it is finished on every side. There is also the bonus drawer which holds pencils and pens and an inkwell. It pulls out and pivots to line up along side of the desk for convenience. It really is amazing how much function and storage this piece generates, since it is only 32" Tall X 25" Wide X 23" Deep.
F-01818 English Davenport circa, 1870 is priced at $ 2795.00
